Grey, grey days...

The past few weeks you haven't seen many pictures from me. It has been very grey, rainy and dull all the time here. Very bad light for photography and not very tempting to go outside. So I've spent a lot of time working on my archive, I followed a seminar Lightroom and did some work on websites. But today I couldn't resist the temptation and went to the Haaksbergerveen with Geert. Over the past few days there have been a lot of sightings of Cranes, so we hoped to find some. Unfortunately we didn't. We walked a bit through the Haaksbergerveen and found a tree full with lychens. It was a bit hard to find a good composition, but this one was quite ok.

Now lets hope spring will start soon, so we can go do real fun things again :)

Out again!

The past weeks have been really busy for me, with only very little time for photography. This combined with the not so good weather made that I hardly spent time taking pictures. Now things have become a little more quiet I took some time out again. No really special plans, just wanted to be outside again.
Yesterday I joined Ruben shopping and saw some panoramic postcard of the city of Groningen. This triggered the idea of making some panoramic shots myself. So while walking in the Friesche Veen today, I decided to give it a try. The above picture (click on it to see it larger) is made up of 6 different wide angle shots. Because I didn't want any differences in lighting, I set both the shutter speed and the aperture to an average value and I placed the camera on a tripod. I used Canon's Photostitch to stich the pictures together.
A little later I found some nice moss plants with sporangia. In the picture below it looks like the sporangium is looking out over the sea of moss, like a periscope.
